The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2020 is an association that organizes an annual science and maths competition for secondary school students, who are winners of their respective National Olympiad.

Their skills in tackling scientific problems, mathematical problem solving skills and dealing with experiments are tested. Interest in science/maths, inventiveness, creativity and perseverance are necessary. In bringing together gifted students, the IJSO competition tries to challenge and stimulate these students to expand their talents and to promote their career as scientists. A very important point is gathering young people from all over the world in an open, friendly and peaceful mind.

Every participating country sends six students, who are the winners of the respective national competitions. They are accompanied by two-three team leaders who represent the country

Nepal Junior Science Olympiad

Nepal Junior Science Olympiad (NJSO) 2020 is the national event to select the bright secondary school students who are most likely to excel in the science and technological field. The outstanding six (6) selected most brilliant NJSO finalists will be getting the opportunity to attend in the prestigious International Junior Science Olympiad 2020 which is going to be held in Frankfurt, Germany from December 2-12, 2020.

Our Aims

  • To create friendship and relationships among students around the world from an early age.

Objectives

  • To stimulate the active interest of students in the Natural Sciences.
  • To promote their careers as scientists.
  • To enhance and develop international contacts in the Natural Sciences.
  • To promote future scientific collaboration.
  • To encourage the formation of friendships within the scientific community.
  • To offer the opportunity to compare the syllabi and educational trends in science education within the participating countries.

Criterias

  • The students must be Nepali citizen.
  • The competitors must be born on or after January 1, 2004, it means they must not be older than 15 years old.
  • The high scoring top 40 students from overall schools and colleges shall be eligible to participate in the final round of the contest.
  • The results of the final round shall be declared in the award ceremony only. We expect top students of round 1 should attend this award ceremony with a curious feeling. School and College management must take all necessary steps to bring the fellow students in the Grand Award Ceremony.
